Ethereal Fleeting
- Where: M Leuven (museumtuin), Vanderkelenstraat 28 (view on Google Maps)
This installation by Lukas Truniger (CH) mimics the weather. The machine makes clouds that float and dissolve in the air, with the art reflecting how man interacts with nature, and how he wants to control it.
Autogene
- Where: Stadhuis (wandelzaal), Grote Markt (view on Google Maps)
Peter William Holden (UK) makes umbrellas move to music. Look again – and again – and discover the patterns.
Distributive Intelligence
- Where: Stadhuis (gotische zaal), Grote Markt (view on Google Maps)
Together, hundreds of robotic objects create an impressive sound and light show. This work by Lukas Truniger (CH) symbolises group spirit. You see chaos as well as cooperation.
The Carousel
- Where: The former DOMO building - ground floor, Bondgenotenlaan 169 (view on Google Maps)
Using eight slide projectors, Peter William Holden (UK) creates an infinite loop of 65,536 images. The slides do not contain a photograph, but paper cut-outs – inspired by shadow theatre.
Parallel Strata
- Where: Tweebronnen (binnenplaats), Rijschoolstraat 4 (view on Google Maps)
The 5 towering machines by Nicky Assman and Joris Strijbos (NL) create a stroboscopic effect on the square. Walk over it and discover a surprising shadow play.
Fanions et Carillons
- Where: School 6, ingang via Heilig Hart ziekenhuis Naamsestraat 105 (view on map)
This work by Marion Fanion and Raphael Pluvinge (FR) consists of 14 rotating and swaying canvases. Like a church bell, the installation comes to life. Instead of hearing bells ringing, you see a symphony of fabrics.
